Evaluations at Speech Zone are typically one hour long. During this time, our speech-language pathologists assess your child’s communication skills through play, conversation, and standardized assessments.
Based on the evaluation, the clinician creates an individualized therapy plan with specific goals, objectives, and recommendations tailored to your child’s needs.
We encourage parents and caregivers to be present during the evaluation so the clinician can answer questions, discuss observations and concerns, and review the recommended next steps. After the evaluation, you’ll receive a summary of results along with the therapy plan and recommendations for supporting your child’s progress.
Sessions typically last 30-60 minutes, depending on your child’s age, attention, therapy goals and the clinician's professional opinion. The frequency and duration of sessions are individualized based on your child’s needs.
We offer individual and small group therapy sessions, specialized classes, and intensives.
Each session is designed to meet the individualized needs of your child and is conducted in a supportive, play-based environment.
Speech Zone offers PROMPT speech therapy for children who need support with speech sound production and motor planning. PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) is an evidence-based technique that uses gentle tactile cues on the face and jaw to guide correct speech movements.
This therapy can help children with:
• Childhood apraxia of speech
• Articulation disorders
• Motor speech delays
• Difficulty coordinating speech movements
Our PROMPT-trained therapists create individualized treatment plans to help children build clearer speech and stronger communication skills.
Absolutely! Caregiver involvement is important. We encourage caregivers to observe sessions, ask questions, and practice strategies at home to support ongoing progress.
Every child progresses at their own pace, so the time needed to master therapy goals can vary. Progress depends on the type and severity of the communication challenge, attendance, and home-based carryover. We will monitor progress and adjust goals as needed.
Our practice is not in-network with any insurance providers. We are happy to provide superbills and documentation or families to submit for reimbursement. Please contact our office for specific coverage details.
